What I learned on a course for TV showrunners
Ed Cripps shares his experiences after completing Jeff Melvoin’s online Running the Show course.
Edward is a London-based writer by way of Yorkshire and Dorset with a love for drama, genre, YA and LGBTQ+ stories.
He has recently written on KAOS, Charlie Covell’s genre-bending series for Netflix, and is currently adapting a grounded sci-fi novel for Bad Wolf. He is developing original TV projects with Two Brothers Pictures, Bonafide, Objective Fiction and Raw TV and his debut queer horror feature is in development with Lunapark Pictures with the support of the BFI Film Fund, awarding funds from The National Lottery.
Edward was one of 12 emerging writers selected for the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course 2022 and is also a BFI Flare x BAFTA Crew mentee. Previously he was paired with Firebird Pictures through Channel 4’s 4Screenwriting Mentoring Scheme and made a BFI NETWORK @ London Film Festival alumni.
